The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. They are the current champions of the National Football League and play in the South Division of the National Football Conference.The Saints reached the NFC Championship Game in the 2006 season but lost 39–14 to the Chicago Bears. They repeated this feat in their most successful season in 2009, this time winning the game and their first conference championship to send them to their first Super Bowl appearance. At Super Bowl XLIV, the Saints won the city of New Orleans its first league championship, beating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.
